Prepare the Leather Before applying Gum Tragacanth, make sure the leather is clean. Any dyeing, staining, or tooling should be completed beforehand. Apply Gum Tragacanth Using a dauber or Edge Paddle, apply a small amount of Gum Tragacanth to the edge or surface you wish to burnish. Distribute it evenly. Burnish the Leather With a burnishing tool, bone folder, or slicker, rub the product into the leather using firm, even pressure. The heat from friction activates the Gum Tragacanth, binding the leather fibers and creating a smooth, glossy finish. Repeat if Needed For a higher shine or smoother edge, reapply Gum Tragacanth and repeat the burnishing process until the desired result is achieved. Let It Dry Allow the leather to dry completely. Drying times can vary based on temperature and humidity but usually take just a few minutes.
