This leather is alum tanned, meaning that it has characteristics closer to rawhide than it does to chrome tanned leathers. What do people use it for? Indian tan latigo has a lot of uses similar to those of regular latigo, such as saddle strings, straps, lace, etc. The difference, however is mainly in the look and the toughness desired. What are the thickness and average sizes? Our Indian tan latigo is usually 5-7 ounces thick, or around 3/32″. Sides average 15-20 square feet.
